On February 15, we got our first close-up look at Maia Reficco and Tom Francis together [photo above]. But in truth, little details long before this photo showed that they had been together for some time.
In a tik tok of Maia on December 13, 2024 when she was at home in her New York apartment during Hadestown, Tom posted a photo on January 25, 2025 that was exactly the same background as Maia's.
On January 2, 2025 Maia Reficco made a tiktok and we can see that Maia received pink flowers from someone she didn't mention but who could no doubt be from Tom to support her in her last days in Hadestown.
Who's Tom Francis?
Thomas Francis Barber was born Tom on June 29, 1999 in Colchester, England, and grew up in Thorpe Morieux, Suffolk. He joined the Youth Theatre at Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds and studied at Arts Educational School (ArtsEd) in West London from 2017 to 2020, gaining a BA in Musical Theatre.
Today he is best known for his performance as Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre, winning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Comedy.
Maia Reficco was inspired by Nicole Scherzinger's Norma Desmond costume in Sunset Boulevard, for Halloween!
Career
Tom made his professional stage debut as Roger Davis in Rent at Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre under the direction of Luke Sheppard. Francis will reunite with Sheppard for his next show & Juliet at London's Shaftesbury Theatre, reprising the role of Romeo in March 2022 and marking his West End debut.
For his performance as Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard at Savoy Theatre, he won the 2024 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Francis also performed at the awards ceremony. He made his Broadway debut that fall when Sunset Boulevard transferred to the St. James Theatre. In the Broadway and West End version, there's a six-minute sequence at the start of the second act in which Francis, as Joe, exits the theater to sing “Sunset Boulevard” while walking down Shubert Alley (in the West End, outside the Savoy Theatre), before returning to the theater for the song's finale. In November, he took a break from the role due to a vocal cord injury.
Francis is set to make his TV debut as Clayton in the fifth and final season of the Netflix series You.

On LUZU TV live show on February 20, 2025, Maia confirmed that she was in a relationship, but that it would remain a secret.
Leo Gassman was probably just an Italian love affair, but after the carnage between Kit Connor's former relationship and Maia Reficco quickly came to an end, Maia prefers to keep her love affairs a secret, and she's right to do so.
Today, Tom and Maia follow and support each other in life and on social networks, we sometimes see little messages from them under their respective posts.
